Libby's Story - Testimonial

It was a few years ago when I first met Fiona and I remember it really well.

One morning I woke up to find my very old Libby cat, 22 years old, wide eyed and seemingly disoriented and paralysed in one of her back legs. As you can image I was distraught as we had been together since she was 12 weeks old and we had grown together and tackled life’s challenges along the way. The vet thought she may have had a stroke and as she was so old there was very little she could do for her and suggested I consider putting her to sleep.

As the days went by she became her old self again but was still unable to use her back leg but she seemed happy enough and could move very slowly using her three good legs and a little help from me at times.

It was my sister who suggested I look for an animal chiropractor as she had several rescued ponies from Dartmoor and always had them regularly checked out by her local lady. I hadn’t really thought about it before and wondered if there was anyone out there who would treat a cat.

I found Fiona on Google and it was the best thing I have ever done. As soon as I met Fiona I just felt her love and compassion for animals, just like my own. She is kind, loving and passionate about what she does and Libby would purr away as Fiona treated her. I’m sure if Libby could have talked she would have said the same.

It was during one of the sessions with Fiona that I saw a glimmer of hope for Libby. As Fiona was massaging Libby’s leg it suddenly moved on its own. I was overwhelmed and eventually Libby had the full use of her leg again.

Libby continued to live a happy, peaceful and hopefully contented remainder of her life until she passed away at the grand old age of 23. I called Fiona to tell her the news. Fiona helped my dear Libby while she was alive and now helped me deal to with my loss. I have tears in my eyes as I’m writing this as I can still recall my grief. Fiona sent me a lovely card with heartfelt sympathy and a wonderful book called ‘Crossing the Rubicon’. She said it had helped her when her dog died. It really did help and I very much appreciated her thoughtfulness.

Now I have Charlie cat. He’s a rescue and absolutely wonderful. He’s a little on the chubby side, bit like his mum, and a joy to be with. Recently I took him to the vet for a strain he had in his leg and all they could do was prescribe him anti-inflammatory drugs. I wasn’t particularly happy about that, especially when the vet and the receptionist both independently said if Charlie was sick to stop giving him the drugs. It raised a red flag to me and so I sought Fiona’s help once again. It had been a few years since I last saw her but I managed to track her down. As soon as I met Fiona I remembered why I looked her up again. Her warmth and energy just filled the room. She has sorted my Charlie out and he still goes for regular maintenance every few months. He also purrs and sits calmly as he is treated.

If you are reading my story and thinking about having one of your animals treated I would thoroughly recommend Fiona. I’m sure, as in my experience, her kindness and presence will make any animal feel save and calm and you can guarantee that they are in safe in her healing hands.
